Found a fix: Create a shortcut to QLC+ on your desktop and then quickly click it multiple times with your Enttec or any other DMX device plugged in.
Wow I thought this too weird to be true but I tried this and it worked.
I have a Dell Lattitude 5410, Windows 11 and ENTTEC Open DMX USB 512
I will gladly avail myself to assist in root causing this is you proide me instructions on what you want checked, tested, performend etc..
BTW The QLC+ V5 Beta does not exibit this crashing problem.
I seem to have this problem too. I have a Dore-midi USB-DMX-cable. Any version of QLC+ 4 later than 4.12.7 simply doesnt start. If I unplug the cable QLC starts. QLC actually have started a couple of times with the cable inserted, it seems to detect the cable but doesnt output anything (the "out"-led on the cable isnt lit and my dmx-lights wont turn on).
4.12.7 works fine (Im a beginner but seems to be a great program) and it identifies my cable as FT232R Uart (s/n: AB0KT9HX) with driver FTD2xx. Cable-led out is lit and I can control my DMX-lights. I have the same behaviour on two different computers, one old latitude e7250 and one new stationary, both running windows 11. I havent downloaded any specific driver, the one Windows seem to be using is FTDI 2.12.36.4.
Alright, hopefully this info can give someone a clue to the cause of the problem.
Cheers!
This is the place where the issue is being analyzed and discussed. https://github.com/mcallegari/qlcplus/issues/1666
We are waiting for ENTTEC feedback but the issue seems to be related to some devices and 64bit drivers.
I have a eurolite usb-dmx512-pro MK2 interface and I have the same problem with QLC+ versions from 4.13 onwards.
I found a workaround that seems to work at the moment.
I installed the two versions 4.12 and 4.14. I run version 4.12 first, configure the interface and then run 4.14 (the two versions must be active at the same time).
Then I deactivate the interface from 4.12 and work with 4.14.
I tried and it seems to work while waiting for a definitive solution.
